Later this year, the University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) went on strike after they had recently embarked on one which affected the 2021/2022 Academic Calendar of various universities.
Students are really affected by this strike and the meetings of UTAG and the National Labour Commission seems not to yield positive results.
The National Executive Committee (NEC) of UTAG, held a two-day meeting ( from Monday 28th to Tuesday 29th November ) at the University of Energy and Natural Resources in Sunyani to discuss pressing issues.
Below is the outcome of their meeting stated in the letter.

A sample from the letter reads:
“The Industrial action must continue unabated”
“Several engagements with the Employer and the NLC to resolve this impasse have yielded no meaningful results”
“There would be more Industrial action should government fail to adhere to its own agreements”
Graduation ceremonies are still on hold, academic calendars have been drawn already.
What is the fate of these students involved?
