Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), in collaboration with Vodafone Ghana, offers SIM cards to newly admitted students.
These SIM cards are distributed to students in their first year, with each student receiving one SIM card and a unique phone number.
Benefits
Students enjoy a monthly package that includes call units, SMS units, and a data bundle. The call units cover Vodafone-to-Vodafone calls for up to 3 hours and 20 minutes, while calls to other networks are limited to 10 minutes. Additionally, students receive 50 SMS units and a generous internet bundle of 5.12GB, which does not have an expiry date.
However, it's essential to note that call and SMS units do not accumulate; they expire after one month, and some students might encounter issues with bundles expiring.
