This achievement means that Nigerian chef Hilda Baci, who held the record earlier this year, has been dethroned. Her record stood at 93 hours and 11 minutes, which had sparked a sensation in Nigeria, inspiring others to attempt similar world records, from non-stop crying to singing.

Hilda Baci expressed her motivation for pursuing the record, stating, "I just knew that I need to do something that is… out of the ordinary to put myself on the map, to put Nigeria on the map, to put young African women on the map." She credited previous record-holders as a source of inspiration.

Alan Fisher's record-breaking cooking marathon involved peeling an astonishing 300kg of potatoes, which he noted became almost hypnotic as fatigue set in. He even experienced hallucinations during his lengthy cooking session. In an incredible twist, Fisher also went on to break the non-stop baking record, achieving a time of 47 hours and 21 minutes.

By the end of these marathon sessions, Fisher had produced 357kg of soda bread and an impressive 3,360 portions of food. His dedication and endurance in the kitchen have certainly earned him a place in culinary history.
