The development of a vending machine that can be accessed using mobile money services has addressed the frustration of limited access to products and services during urgent times. The vending machine, created by three computer engineering students of KNUST, offers a convenient and efficient solution to the problem.
Traditional vendors often have limited operating hours, leaving customers in need without access to necessary items. This is especially true for students during exam periods when they require products around the clock. The vending machine provides a 24-hour service, ensuring that students and others have access to the products they need whenever they need them.
The vending machine is equipped with a 7-inch smart screen, a camera for monitoring, and a spring coil for dispensing products. The process is simple: customers select their desired item and the quantity, proceed to checkout, choose their preferred network for mobile money payment, enter their mobile money number, confirm the payment, and receive the product. The entire transaction is quick and seamless.
Additionally, the vending machine comes with a mobile application that allows the owners to monitor transactions, track inventory, and stay informed about the machine's status in real time. This feature eliminates the need for constant manual checks and provides convenience for the owners.
By combining technology, convenience, and accessibility, this innovative vending machine addresses the frustrations of limited access to products and services during urgent times. It provides a reliable and efficient solution, ensuring that individuals can access the items they need at any time of the day. With this development, the students have not only solved a problem for their fellow students but have also contributed to the advancement of automated services in the marketplace.
