The Ghana Education Service (GES) employs a Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) as a digital solution to allocate students to one of their five chosen secondary schools during the BECE enrollment. The selection is entirely contingent on the student's academic performance.

HOW TO CHECK YOUR PLACEMENT
Discovering your BECE placement is a straightforward process through the CSSPS portal. Follow these steps after the GES announcement of BECE exam results and school placements:
1. Visit the CSSPS Result Checker Online Portal
2. Acquire the placement checker using your mobile money account.

3. Upon purchasing the CSSPS SHS placement Checker, navigate to the "Check Placement" option on the CSSPS portal.
4. Enter your BECE index number and the year of examination using the format: if your index number is 1234567890 and the year of your examination is 2022, input: 123456789022.
5. Input the Serial number and the PIN (Personal Identification Number) from the E-Voucher you purchased online.
6. Click on "Submit" to reveal your placement.
HOW TO CHECK SCHOOL PLACEMENT ON YOUR PHONE
<> Go to the CSSPS portal.
<> Choose the 'Buy voucher' option. Purchase the placement checker card for GH₵ 10.00 via your MTN mobile money number.
<> After purchasing the BECE school placement checker voucher, return to the CSSPS result checker online portal and select the 'Check placement' option.
<> Enter your BECE index number, followed by your examination year, in the following sequence:
If your index number is 1234567890 and your exam year is 2022, you will enter 123456789022. After that, input the serial number and pin found on the online e-voucher you purchased.
<> Finally, press the 'Submit' button to see your SHS school placement.
<> If you want to print your BECE SHS school placement from your phone, click the 'Print' button.
Print and fill out the BECE placement form (also called WAEC/BECE placement form), attach your passport, and send the documents to your CSSPS-placed institution.

HOW TO DO SCHOOL SELF-PLACEMENT
1. Visit CSSPS Website
2. Select the check placement module on the page to continue the process
3. Provide your e-voucher PIN and Index Number (i.e. after successful purchase in the steps above) and click on enter.
4. You will be redirected to the self-placement module. Here, you'll be provided with a selection of schools to pick from based on your aggregate. Choose your desired school as well as your residential preference (day/boarding).
5. Finally, click on Confirm and print the changes.
